In 2010, members of the University of Chicago community participated in the Workshop on the Health and Well-being of Women and Children, comprised of nearly 100 faculty, students, staff, and outside guests. These individuals met to explore new ideas and approaches to reducing disparities in sexual and reproductive health. The event illustrated the effectiveness of scholars from different disciplines collaborating with young people, advocacy organizations, and domestic and global partners. The success of these partnerships led to the launch of Ci3 on November 13, 2012.
